Cartesian Coordinate System: X Y Z, three dimensions
Basic Anatomy of 3d objects: --Mesh: -----Vertex:point of intersection; a point in space -----Edge: space between two vertexes -----Face: a plane or polygon made of edges -----Polygon: faces coming together; 2 or more faces = 1 polygon
Basic 3ds max: when max thinks of an object... --Object Level: overall mesh, the whole of the parts ----Sub-oject Level:parts of the mesh (vertext, edge, face, polygon etc.); elements Keep the model clean by mostly using 4 side polys

I completely suck a this class. Everybody else is a hundred times better...I might as well pack up and head back to psych school... ::sob:: Notes Week 2 Spline ModelingSpline: line between vertexes; max can see line as a curved line Work with "shapes" icon in the Comand Panel Besier: alter through vetex Besier corner: just lets you play with one segment at a time without messing up the others Interpilation: how the program draws the object; helps to smooth lines
