Stopping infront of the city gates, Soraya's deep gaze silently embraced the scene aroound her. Picking up every detail of the city's outskirts, she could tell this would be indeed, a good place for business. A slow smirk formed upon her lips, for humans and creatures alike were always taken by what was interesting, new and... shall we say exotic?
' Hmmm... I hope I can make good money here...' she mused within sealed thoughts, as her skirts flowed with the rythm of the wind. Her saldals produced a quiet sound, which was defeated by the soft, continuous sound of the clanking jewelry she wore. Looking down she reached for a black satin satchel, and in it were a few tubes of dust and some potions. She mumbled a bit under her breath and continued to walk. 'Indeed... I'm sure I'll find good clientelle in this town." she nodded firmly as she passed the gates and reached the streets of that city.

As Soraya entered the city a young girl brushed up against her. "Sorry." Vayu pulled her cloak closer to her and the hood down further to hide her face.
She eyed the gypsy wearily before deciding that she posed no threat to her being. "You need to be careful in this town, newcomer." She held up the satin satchel that the gypsy was just looking through moments ago. "Thieves run amok here. Keep you belongings closer."
The bard offered Soraya a smile before turning back the way she came.

Bewildered and quite at a loss of words, Soraya swiftly turned to face the direction of the bard. "Thank you Miss... for the warning...." Soraya sighed and pouted slightly, she had a feeling more thieves dwelled this city. She could only hope that her wit and charm would help,as opposed to wit and speed. "Would you be as kind as to point me in the direction of a tavern, or Inn?" Bright eyes regarded the bard with a cautious but warm friendliness as she spoke calmly.

Vayu looked over her shoulder and grinned. "Sure thing, hon. Just follow me." Her cloak whipped in the wind as she turned. A few wisps of blonde hair blew free from her hood.
"Stay close." Her hood had blown back enough to reveal ruby red eyes. The bard smirked again at the gypsy. "And I mean close." Without waiting her to respond Vayu began to walk at a brisk pace.

Soraya looked at the bard and nodded slightly, trying to keep up with her brisk, rough pace. Her delicate dance shoes crunched lightly against the dead leaves ahead in her path. "Thank you very much... I must ask though... why is it I must stay close?" not that she didn't obey, she was as close as a person possibly could be.

A hand shot out from the crowd of people, going right toward Vayu's waist, trying to reach inside her cloak. Instead of getting into the cloak the would be thief was thrown against the side of a building. There was a faint blue shimmer around the bard's hand and she was holding a dagger.
"Trust me, mate. You don't want to even try that." A wicked smile graced Vayu's face. To think, less than a year before she came to the city she was a quiet shy thing...

Soraya had seen the hand approaching from the mob of people and at that moment she quickly took her satin satchel and slipped it into a fold inside of her rather tight corset- like top. She kept closeto the bard and looked around. Soraya wasn't used to massive crowds like these, only small villages with "green" old men that were easily enthralled by a dance and pretty eyes. "I thinkI'm gonna have to get another job..." she mumbled with some distress.

After the "attack" Vayu continued forward. "Don't worry, miss. This is just the bad part o' town. If you would have came through the northern gates you would be in the good side. That's where I'm taking you."
The wind picked up again, this time successfully pushing the hood all of the way back. Vayu sighed, her long hair whipping in the wind carelessly. Turing a few more corners a rather nice tavern came into view.
"It may be near the bad side of town, but the owners are rather strict. I haven't seen anyone even try to take them on." A smirk crossed her ivory face. "Then again I don't think anyone wants to mess with that lot." She looked back at Soraya with a kind smile. "Come."

Soraya looked at Vayuand said without thinking, "You're not alike people here.. there's a finery much more delicate to you.." Her comment was drowned by the wind, which began to play with her own tresses of long, soft hair without warning. She tucked a small section of the silk hair behind an ear and continued her lively stride. Though weary with the journey she had done good in obeying Vayu's order to keep close.

This time the bard's smile was nostalgic - sad, even. "There was a finery to me," she stated simply. "This city will take that out of anyone if they stay here too long." She looked back to the tavern as she continued to lead. "I've been waiting for someone for a while and they haven't shown."
Vayu paused and opened the door for Soraya. "Those with creative spirits shouldn't stay here too long. It will leech your spirit from you."

Soraya watched Vayu's smile, the way the delicate contours of her face suddenly held a saddened expression of which origins she could not understand. She heard her warning and sighed, saying a bit softly, "It dosen't matter anymore... my creative spirit will diminish either way... be it in this city or elsewhere..." Bright, crystalline eyes looked at Vayu and offered her a smile as she walkedthrough the door with a light grace. "Thank you."

Vayu quirked a blonde eyebrow. "There is a way to fix it. Granted I would have to travel back to the hame from which I came." She lead the way to a table.
"C'mon. I'll buy ya dinner. You're fun company." She smiled a bit and offered her a gloved hand. Funny, tho, her other hand wasn't gloved. "I'm Vayu Vila."

Soraya held out a tanned delicate hand for her to shake. "I am Soraya Naoki... nice to meet you,and thank you for kindness, Miss Vila." She offered her a smile and it was then she noticed the glove. Instinct told her not to question, and yet her curiosity was rising. Afterall, she was a gypsy. She wasn't stupid enough to steal from the very person that just aided her.Perhaps she could offer some literal insight... "You are a bard...correct?" she asked casually.

She nodded. "Yes, I am. I always have been." Vayu smiled. "Tis my destiny, deemed by the Goddesses." She stretched before she sat in the old booth.
The tavern wasn't too shabby, actually. The furniture was made of polished oak and cushioned to boot. There were some scrapes in the wood, but that was to be expected. The smell wasn't to bad either - sandlewood incense and homecooking.
"Just as it's you took up your destiny as a gypsy, perhaps?"

The question was a new one to Soraya. "No..." she replied thoughtfully, getting lost in the patterns of the old wood."No...I was born into a Tribe of Gypsies..."An expression of sadness took over her features, but she smiled and shook her head slightly. "Needless to say,I will not try to steal from someone that has shown me kindness. Thank you, Miss Vila."
