For those of you who like using Prizma markers or other alchohol based markers like Pantone and Copic, here's some tips and tricks to use them.
Places online to get Marker paper and markers:
Prizma colors: www.dickblick.com, www.jerrysartarama.com
Tend to be rather expensive (2-3 dollars per a marker) but they have two tips per marker and many colors. They smell quite intense and may give you a headache but nothing blends better. My only complaint is that their small nibs tend to dry out quickly. The new felt ones last a lot longer; the old metal thin tips hardly lasted for a few days. These markers let you do four line widths with one marker!
Pantone: www.jerrysartarama.com/art-supply-stores/online/692
These have flat square nibs and cost about the same as Prizmas. They come in better sets however and you can get a pretty good deal on them. I've only used a few; I found that the edge of some of the markers would chip or fray on me but they have a very good selection of colors.
Copic Markers: www.copicmarker.com/home/cm1/listcats_main.html
One of the best marker companies available! Very popular with japanese manga artists. They can even be hooked up to an air supply to turn into airbrushes. They have the best color selection, nibs, and sets I've seen but they're quite expensive. I might get some when my Prizma's die.
The best part about Copics is that they are refillable at home!
Marker paper: You can get this at most art supply stores like Michaels, Joann Fabrics, Dick Blik Southern Graphics Supply etc etc. Most packs run from 9 to 16 dollars.
Reviving an Alchohol Marker: If you want to get the last bit of your ink out of the markers, dip the tips in rubbing alchohol and you can get every last bit of it out. This trick also works to clean your colorless blender.
