"Hmm? Oh, no, even if I did, it would hardly bother me, oh no, no." With that, Lugh steps forwardout over the chasm, and for a moment seems poised to fall - before the edge of the stone visibly ripples, and shoots forward to support his foot as it lands.
Step by step, Lugh advance across the chasm, an archway forming as he moves. "Mmm. Come along, yes? This is hardly the place to stop and rest already, mmm, yes, indeed."

If Sijji didn't have a pack on her back and didn't want to fall behind, she would have face vaulted. Yes. It would seem that it /would/ take a long time indeed.
The monk followed Lugh, timidly at first, half expecting what she was seeing to be an illusion of some sort and half expecting it to crumble. When Sijji discovered that it, indeed, would not disappear or the like, she moved forward, and was once again right behind him.
"Yea... not a place to rest at all. Tis much to early for that, anyway..."

"Indeed, too early by far, yes, indeed." Lugh nods twice, as he reaches the far side, leaving in his wake a perfectly natural-looking bridge across the unmeasured depths of the chasm, precisely wide enough for a person to walk on without fear of falling off from a missed step. Completely natural, completely ordinary, if one hadn't seen it literally grow from the stony sides of the chasm.
"So, are you more susceptible to cold or to heat, hmm? One way or the other is what we need to choose, here shortly, oh yes. The downward path to the Fire Rivers, or the upward to the Frozen Rift. Your choice, of course, mmhmm, as I can take both easily, oh yes, yes, indeed."

"Only one extreme or the other, ne?" Sijji furrowed her eyebrows as she thought. She could put up with it, but since she was given a choice...
"The Frozen Rift, I guess. I can put up with heat, but I'm more comfortable in the cold." She looked at the packs. "But... do you have any coats or something? Even a thin one will do."

"Oh, of course, of course. A cloak, perhaps? Or would you prefer a more snug garment? Or something else, hmm?" Lugh doesn't stop moving as he talks, of course, continuing to stroll along steadily; his steps begin to bear to the right slightly after a few minutes, towards one of three tunnels visible in the wall ahead.

"Well... cloak, I guess." Sijji followed a few paces behind. "I don't even know how I put up with the shirt being so snug..." She shrugged.
"Then again... The reason it's snug is because I don't like my movement hindered..." She kicked at the ground. "Something snug will do."

Even as Sijji finishes speaking, a snug, warm sweater of sorts begins to form from the air, shimmering and sparkling as it comes into being. Along with it comes a warm pair of leggings, and sturdy soft-soled boots that barely feel as if they're there.
"Ah, yes, yes, that should do, yes?"

Sijji sort of gasped as she felt the clothing form. "What in..." was all she got out. The feeling was the strangest thing she had ever felt.
It took a moment for Lugh's question to be processed. "Um..." She realized she had stopped walking. "It's perfect..." murmured the halfling as she began her pace again. "Thank you."

"Oh, you're most welcome, yes, yes. Well then, this way. Up we go to the Frost Rift." Lugh flashes Sijji a smile as he begins to pick his way along the rightmost tunnel, which begins to slope upwards gradually after a few hundred feet.

Not wanting to fall behind Sijji was right behind Lugh once more. "Aside from the weather, is there anything that I need to worry about up there?"

"Oh, nothing much, no. A few cryohydras, some remorhaz, a few winter wolves and frost hounds, and I think I recall hearing about a town of dark elves who worship the Lady of Frost, but nothing beyond that, oh no, no." Lugh continues to smoothly walk along, as if he hadn't listed an array of predators and killers that would send most surface folk running away screaming for mercy from the gods.

Sijji just blinked. "Um... I guess I'll be safest if I stick by you, right?" In her slight daze the monk tripped over her own feet... er, almost tripped, but managed to catch herself by grabbing Lugh's shoulder.
"Um... sorry." She let go and quickly composed herself again.

Lugh staggers slightly, caught off-guard by Sijji's weight being added to his, but recovers easily enough. "Oh, not a problem, no, not at all. Even surefooted goats of the mountains stumble, mmhmm, yes, indeed."

"All right." Sijji smiled at Lugh. "So..." she started as she began moving, "now is there anything more I should expect enemy wise?"
The monk warmed her wrists up, anticipating getting out from underground. Being half bamboo-spirit, she longed to see the sun once more.

"Oh, nothing much, no. Nothing threatening this way, not really, oh no, no." Cryohydras, remorhaz, and dark elves worshipping the Goddess of the Cold - and Lugh calls it 'nothing threatening'. "If you wish, I can give you gloves, mm, yes, indeed, I can."
